Dear Alli,
So tonight was more interesting I think than I really cared for. Tonight was one of our Guild Meetings, well, it was only for the High Council, so really only Commander Tristan, Commander Zewey, Commander Brier, Alenia, and myself were the only invites. And in the end, we all did manage to show up, though Brier was running a little late.
The first half of the meeting left me quite distraught, and I must say, I am ashamed to have lost my temper at the opinions being stated there. Commander Zewey was quite loud and focusing very much on the fact of how much he hated AoRG and felt the government was the sole cause of our problems. Alenia was no help either as she was also in agreement that the forum was to blame.
But none of them had arguments to back up their opinions. Commander Zewey claimed the forum did not help to generate interaction between guilds, stating the example that we were not welcome on SoB and BITCH lands. While I can see where he is coming from, it is not the forum's duty to tell the guilds to interact, but rather the leaders of the guilds who should be promoting this activity. The example he gave was one of the extreme. Even I have heard tales of how those guilds he mentioned were quite unwelcoming to members of other guilds, but that is how they are and who they choose to be. Who are we to tell them how they must treat others.
What really irked me more than anything was when it seemed that we all agreed that currently EGoV is dead, and when I asked how we were to bring about the resurrection, Zewey insisted that there would be no resurrection. He is supposed to be a commander for our guild, a leader in fact! And yet he fails to hold any faith in its future. It is very hard to have faith and follow someone who has no hope to offer himself.
I left shortly after Brier showed up, of course bringing in goodies of muffins for us all to eat. They were wonderfully delicious! I do hope she does more baking in the future as she is marvelous and very talented at it. She brought in many good ideas as well with her to the meeting, such as redesigning the guild roster and having more of the guild get-together nights. I volunteered to help her out with those, so that will be lots of fun for her and me.
I also had the idea myself to perhaps redesign one of the rooms at the Inn in sort of a Japanese decor, and hosting a traditional tea party for the Mercury Corps, with the others in the guild invited as well.
But for now, my bed is calling to me, and I feel the need to answer it. Until writing calls me forth once more, adiou.
By My Hand,
